Also, after learning this from a blog I follow on my facebook page, tomorrow is national Nutella day! I did not plan this, I promise, but even more reason to go make these delicious brownies!
Nutella Brownies
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups sugar
- ¾ cup Nutella
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1½ cups all–purpose flour
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish; set aside.
In a large, heatproof bowl, microwave the butter until completely melted. Add in the sugar and mix until well combined. Remove from heat and stir in the Nutella. Mix in eggs, cocoa powder, salt, baking powder, and vanilla extract until well combined. Add the flour mixture and fold into the batter until no streaks remain. Mix in the chocolate chips until combined.
Spread batter into prepared pan and bake for about 30 – 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pan for 30 minutes before cutting into bars.
*Tip: I use a bench knife (what you oftentimes use with bread) to cut all my bars and brownies into squares to eliminate the dragging of wet brownie “goo” on the top that you get when you cut them with a knife. Not everyone may have this, but if you do, I suggest using it.
