My Own Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
- 1¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup bread flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 cup butter, softened
- ½ cup white sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1½ tsp. vanilla extract*
- 1 egg
- 1 egg yolk
- 1½ cups chocolate chips
*I actually use 1 teaspoon of vanilla bean paste for these cookies instead of vanilla extract, but since most don't have it on hand I didn't incorporate it into the recipe. However, it really makes a huge difference and I think is worth the buy for making cookies like these.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F 10 minutes before the dough is done cooling. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper. Scoop about 1½ tablespoons of dough and roll in your hands to form a ball, then place on the prepared baking sheets, allowing some room to spread. Bake for about 10 minutes, or until the cookies are somewhat firm and barely browning on the bottom.
