About Me
Hello! I'm Katherine and I love, love, love to bake! You'll soon learn that I am kind of addicted. I also like crafts (I have a knack for making friendship bracelets), sciencey things, photography, and one could say that I kind of sort of maybe like running. Whenever I find the free time, baking is always my go to activity. This blog is my way of sharing that love with all of you.
I started this blog in January of 2014 for a nice place for me to share all the wonderful recipes I've found and what I think of them. I am a huge advocate for giving credit where credit is due, so I will always give credit to outside sources if the recipe is not my own. Even so, I try and make my own revisions. Usually, instead of creating my own recipes, I search through numerous baking books, magazines, and blogs similar to this to find the perfect recipes to try out. Then, once I've tried them, I will post them on this blog if I think they're worthy of sharing with all of you! This way you can feel very confident that these recipes are in fact tried and true. And of course, I will post pictures along with the recipe as well, because it's always nice to see what it will look like before you make it yourself.
My mom was the first one to teach my how to bake, and from then on it was just me. I've been to a couple baking classes or courses, but for the most part I just read, experiment, taste-test, and repeat! And just like that I discovered my passion!
Most of my baking has been at home, but I have also baked professionally for a local Armenian café. My favorite thing to bake is probably cupcakes, since I love decorating them with frosting. However, I also love trying out all sorts of new recipes!
I grew up right outside of Boston, Massachusetts and love everything about it. I am currently a student at Hamilton College in upstate New York, where I am considered majoring in Biology.
My favorite TV show is Friends and my favorite movie is Harry Potter; I like all of them, but if I had to choose, I suppose it would be Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The most important thing to me is my family and friends, which of course also includes my adorable basset hound Martha! You will find some hidden pictures of her throughout this blog.

A few fun baking facts about me:
- I love chocolate, of course. I mean, who doesn't?
- I also love coconut. Some people hate coconut, therefore I hate them. Only kidding (or am I...), but seriously anything with coconut I love, including but not limited to coconut gelato from anywhere in Italy. IT'S THE BEST!
- I hate lavender. I'm sorry to anyone who likes it but for some reason the smell of lavender makes me want to puke.
- The coolest thing I've ever made is probably this Malted Nutella and Biscoff Brownie Torte. It was epic, to say the least.
- My biggest fail was when I made a Bundt cake once and when I flipped it out of the pan it was more like a crumb cake. No worries, my mom was there to save the day. We just took the half of the cake that did insert out properly and cut it up on a cake plate like nothing ever happened (shhhhhh)!
- I had never tried Nutella until the age of 15. I now probably include it in one out of every five recipes I make. 'Nuf said.
